Okay, so I’m fairly new to Twitter. So far, I like it. It’s fun, and I can do searches for things that are relevant to my interests. I also get to connect with people from everywhere, which is pretty awesome.
But I have already become aware of a program that needs to be killed with fire, or maybe just nuked from space–RSS2Twitter. This thing must die–preferably a horrible, painful death.
Like most people who use any form of social media, I already have a fucking RSS reader. So I don’t need large chunks of tweets, eight or ten at a time, from this stupid RSS2Twitter thingy every few minutes. I’ve already seen most of the damn links anyway. It clogs up my Twitter stream, and I have to waste my time sorting through all that crap to find the stuff that actually interests me. It also posts some links twice or posts them again later. If I want to see every fucking thing that the AP posts, I can find it myself. This damn thing also overloads the API on some Twitter applications because it sends out so much crap.
Don’t get me wrong, I like news links; but this thing is like news spam. Or news diarrhea. Either way, it’s not something most people want.
So if you’re using this piece of shit program, or anything similar, stop it. You’re being an A-number one douchebag. Post an original thought or link once in a while instead of relying on that thing like some lazy-ass bastard that can’t be bothered to think for yourself.
